1. Does PAM control licensure, how do I get a license in Manitoba?

  • Manitoba Health is currently the licensing body for EMS practitioners in Manitoba. Please refer to the Manitoba Health Emergency Services website for specific information
  • PAM is currently working with the Paramedic Association of Canada on a number of licensing issues, including nationally recognized competencies and a national practitioner registry.

2. What is PAM's connection to MB Health, or labour organizations?

  • PAM is recognized by Manitoba Health as the provincial association representing the professional interests of EMS practitioners in non-labour issues. PAM is represented on the Manitoba Emergency Services Medical Advisory Committee. PAM is committed to fostering relationships with other allied health care agencies and organizations, and working effectively with those responsible for the provision of Emergency Medical Services throughout the province.

3. Aside from a provincial registry, what are PAM's future goals?

  • Promote the highest possible level of pre-hospital care throughout Manitoba.
  • Represent all licensed providers throughout Manitoba on issues that affect the provision of EMS within the province.
  • Assist members in obtaining quality con-ed opportunities.
  • Lobby for improvements in issues affecting EMS personnel.
  • Develop a self-governing, self-regulatory society responsible for the licensure of all pre-hospital practitioners in the province of Manitoba.
